- They were not allowed to talk in the dormitories.

- Talking was forbidden in the dormitories.

- They were not allowed to run in the corridors.

- Untidiness of any sort was forbidden.

- They had to obey the rules.

The narrator’s feelings:

The narrator felt scared. These days were days of horror for him as they were so many rules to obey.

His main fear was to be punished and to receive a corporal punishment.
