PAST SIMPLE et PAST PERFECT

le past perfect se forme ainsi =>

have (au prétérit) => had + participe passé de la Base Verbale

Il est utilisé pour parler d'une action antérieure à celle énoncée au past simple (= prétérit)

==== past perfect ======= past simple ========> présent

2- She was very cold because she hadn't taken her coat.

3- The printer didn't work because he hadn't turned it on.

4- I couldn't take a photo because I had forgotten to charge the battery.

5- They had never flown before and they were very nervous.

6- When he arrived at the pool he realized he hadn't brought his swimsuit.

7- She had just had dinner so she wasn't very hungry.

8- She had to pay again because she had lost her ticket.

9- The waitress ran after him because he hadn't paid the bill.

10- The fire engine arrived after the fire had gone out.

11- They could speak French because they had learnt it at school.

12- She was tired because she had been in the queue all night.
